After fifteen years, Sue and her husband decided to sell their country home and move into the city. Every room had been tackled except their Master Bedroom. In order to appeal to potential buyers, an update was in order.
Jennifer transformed the master bedroom from a neglected space (think college dorm), into a sophisticated adult space that her clients could retreat to at the end of a long day. A fresh, clean colour palette of cream and pewter was used and a feature wall was created behind the bed with wallpaper. A tufted headboard, mirrored bedside tables, and glass lamps provide elegance, but could also be taken with the homeowner when the house eventually sold. Jennifer chose wall-to-wall berber carpeting to add warmth, and hung custom made, raw silk drapery in cream for a touch of luxury. One of the things that Sue was excited about was the glamorous chandelier that added a finishing touch.
- Sophisticated, neutral palette appealed to both the male and female aesthetic
- Permanent items such as carpeting and wallpaper were kept “budget friendly”
- Elegance and luxury was added in pieces the couple could take with them upon selling
- The view to the country estate property out the windows was emphasized by drawing attention to the windows with floor to ceiling drapery
“Our master bedroom retreat was a huge selling feature. Potential buyers raved about it to their agents and we believe it elevated our home to a whole new price point.”
